"We had a cozy and restorative stay at Fleurs place. We loved the king sized bed and the stunning views. This was my first trip with my anxious dog but he felt right at home here. We enjoyed cooking in the big kitchen, having a warm bath after hikes, cuddling up on the sofa with the warmth from the fireplace. The flue runs up through the master bedroom, it kept us toasty through the night. Lovely linen and the bath products were a real sensory treat. Forrest is a beautiful town to visit during winter! Wish we could’ve stayed for longer."

"SWe had the most relaxing and peaceful stay possible. You really do feel completely alone in a peaceful sanctuary. It's exactly as described and even better than the photos! The house has all the amenities one needs to really enjoy and appreciate the location. Without a doubt the best all round place we have stayed at. We loved its proximity to a couple of beautiful beaches, and also the Prom. The nearby towns are also wonderful places to visit and explore. Highly recommended We will definitely be back."

The little touches to our accommodation did not go unnoticed. The train itself has been beautifully restored to not lose it authenticity. It was nice to have a location where we were able to switch off and reconnect as a family. This stay is a MUST for anyone exploring the Great Ocean Road. We look forward to our next visit! "We recently stayed here for a 3 night getaway and how can I explain how perfect it was and how grateful we are? In short, I can’t. It’s impossible. I need to invent an entirely new vocabulary to describe the absolute delight and wonder we experienced every moment we were there, complete with gasps, “Oooh’s!” and some kind of interpretive dance. Suddenly 2 exhausted, stressed-out, anxious workaholics were transported to being happy and carefree again. We spent much of our time giggling and playing games or exploring with the wide-eyed curiosity and excitement of awestruck children. I’ve never been so sad to leave a place. Fleur and Lisa are perfection. Perfection! And that dear train in the middle of Forrest? Well, I strongly suspect it’s heaven."

"The place is just stunning and surpassed my already high expectations. The attention to detail is incredible. We walked through just gasping “ooooh” and “aaaah” each time we took a step. Not only is the inside wonderful, loads of thought has been put into the outside spaces as well. The outdoor bath is a real treat, the hanging chairs, the outdoor area at the front. All of it. Honestly, it’s just bloody amazing and you should 100% go!

"The quirky Liptrap Loft is almost Dr. Seuss Australia style, starting with the roof line. Upon entering one immediately laughs at the size of the four poster bed which is big enough for 8 people. Then opening the fridge one finds a telephone, and hot water bottle and a few other items. Only after a little more searching there is an operating fridge. Thank goodness. Filled with giggles, and quirks, and fun one checks out the outdoor Japanese bathhouse with the very quirky shower head dangling magically in space ….truly the whole experience was one big holiday from normalcy. It works. The pots and pans are best quality. The wood for the huge Coonara is plentiful if you can find the secret door! All in all we had a really lovely time, relaxing in this unique and fantastical environment. Generosity was the name of the game. Such a treat. Let your doggie friend also enjoy the whole deal. Wonderful!"

"I never imagined a place quite like this, a place where a mind could run free, a place where trains could be houses and dreams only a touch away. Even when I just sat and stared at the gardens, I knew this was a place I would love to live at. It was magic. Fairies lurking in nooks and crannies, dragons curled up in corners, even the feeling that fire sprites could be lurking, hiding amongst the piles of wood, waiting to be sparked alight by a lone match. If I closed my eyes I could imagine the person clicking away on the typewriter, endless one-sided conversations from the old phone. A writers dream only a touch away. And the day we spent walking around the lake got me thinking. ‘Why are we destroying the magic in our lives?’ Slowly as I drew a breath, I realised that we weren’t destroying magic, we were preserving it in the hands of those who dare to imagine. And I am sure that tomorrow, when the time comes to leave, the magic will call forward it’s next believer into this wonderful place, to show those who dare to come here that magic still exists."
